After having launched a successful collaborative collection, Label Varsha and Ayush Kejriwal bring to you another mesmerising collaboration; their Spring Summer edit.
This collection features a number of ethnic and rustic prints to reflect the rich and abundant culture of India. Label Varsha draws inspiration from the traditional Kalamkari block prints of South India. These block print motifs are first hand-drawn and painted, and then digitally converted for printing.
Keeping summer in mind, the fabric used is linen satin, embroidered with thread and corded yarns in earthy rusty hues. The embroidery work has been carried out with great attention to detail, gives a wonderful traditional feel to the entire collection. This, paired with antique zari woven odhni in tussar georgette creates the perfect ethnic ensemble.
Says Yashraj Bhaiya founder of Label Varsha, “The idea was to include various traditional elements and weave them all together to create a look that is reflective of the rich and diverse traditions of India. The collection features looks that are subtle and yet eye-catching, owing to the elaborate motifs and detailing”.
“I thoroughly enjoyed bringing this collection to life. It is organic, earthy and takes inspiration from the fine art of Kalamkari. Collaborating with Varsha gives me the opportunity to reach a bigger audience and it makes my offering more affordable. I look forward to many more opportunities like this and I hope everyone continues to love what we are doing”, adds Ayush Kejriwal.
